Zuni’s history with Big Sky Ranch goes all the way back to his kittenhood, when he was found living feral at a local county fair. Brought to the sanctuary for a fresh start, Zuni has called the ranch home for his entire 13 years!

While he has spent over a decade surrounded by love and gentle care, Zuni has held onto his skittish feral roots when it comes to most people. He is a curious boy who loves to hang out near the house and peek through the glass doors to watch the human action inside—though the second a camera comes out, he’s off like a flash!

However, there is one major exception to Zuni’s shy rule: Big Sky Ranch co-founder, Catherine. Zuni shares a truly special, heartwarming bond with her. No matter how skittish he might be feeling, the moment he hears Catherine call out for her "zuniboi," he immediately stops in his tracks, calms right down, and comes running over to be near her.

Because of his light coat, Zuni isn't a candidate for an unsupervised outdoor barn cat program. Instead, he gets to live out his senior years in safety at the ranch, enjoying a specialized wet-food-only diet and the comfort of a place where his unique personality is completely understood.
