Meet Winston: Big Sky’s Friendly White Ambassador

Winston’s journey is a story of overcoming hardship to find the perfect place to belong. He originally came to Big Sky Ranch after being abandoned and locked inside an apartment when a group of college students moved away.

Over the years, Winston was adopted several times, but he kept coming back. The trauma of being trapped in that apartment left him with a lasting stress response, causing him to urinate on beds whenever he lived in a traditional house. At the same time, because Winston is striking all-white and incredibly friendly, he isn't suited for a barn cat environment either. He truly needed a unique middle ground—and Big Sky Ranch provided just that.

As a sanctuary ambassador, 10-year-old Winston gets to enjoy the best of both worlds: total freedom from the stress of a traditional house, and endless affection from visitors and staff!

Because of his early hardships, Winston deals with a chronic upper respiratory infection (URI) that requires periodic medication whenever he has a flare-up.
