Owler

He is our resident bad ass, and testament to the fact that even the worst cats can be rehabilitated with enough patience and fortitude… and Band-Aids!!
This dude came to us from our friends at St. Tammany Parish Department of Animal Services, where he was surrendered for his bad attitude, and destined for death row. There was not a human or animal on the planet that he did not plan to seek and destroy. And he wasn’t joking! Owler was one of those cats that looked at you with sweet eyes, and then you saw the switch flip and he was suddenly in execution mode. When our friends at the shelter reached out, they were at a loss with what to do with him, but wanted him to have a chance. We gave him that chance at the Ranch. It literally took more than a year of painstaking (no pun intended on that “pain” part) work and patience to help this boy see that he didn’t have to live in attack mode. It was actually Orion, one of our other semi feral resident cats, that was just as committed to this process, and to befriending Owler, that helped with the breakthrough. Years have gone by and this boy has seriously mellowed and is one of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet. In fact, you should come meet him… he would love the attention, as would many of our other Ranch cats that would love the attention of people, that they just don’t get as they should.
