Moose’s story with Big Sky Ranch goes all the way back to the very beginning—he was actually born right here at the sanctuary! His journey started when staff rescued a nursing mother cat trapped in a pump shed, only to discover she was also expecting another litter.

Moose was adopted as a kitten, but his story took a heartbreaking turn years later when he was returned to the ranch critically ill and severely malnourished. Through intensive medical care, specialized nutritional support, and endless love from our team, Moose made a remarkable recovery and transformed into the healthy, vibrant boy he is today.

Despite his gentle and affectionate nature, Moose was repeatedly passed over for a second adoption. He loves pets and snuggles so much that he can occasionally get overstimulated, expressing his enthusiasm with a little "love bite." Because traditional home adopters were hesitant, Moose made Big Sky Ranch his permanent home—and he has truly thrived.

Now 11 years young, Moose has proudly claimed the role of official Ranch Greeter. Whenever visitors arrive, Moose is right there at the front, passionately welcoming every guest with open paws, headbutts, and total enthusiasm.
