The Singer

Meet Hawkeye: Our Melodious Mealtime Guide
Age: 10 years old
Personality: Independent, gentle, and a passionate food-time singer
Specialty: Walking you to the food station while singing the "song of his people"
Special Needs: Stomatitis management, anti-viral medications, and soft food diet
Hawkeye’s life was saved thanks to a second look and a lot of heart. He arrived as an adult cat after Animal Control found him with severely raw, ruptured paw pads. Believing he had suffered catastrophic burns, he was slated for euthanasia. Big Sky CARES stepped in to rescue him and quickly discovered the real culprit: Hawkeye wasn't burned at all, but rather suffering from an autoimmune condition that caused his paw pads to break down.
Through dedicated medical care, laser therapy, and specialized medications, Hawkeye’s paws healed completely! While he was initially put up for adoption, the extensive medical treatments made him a bit people-shy and standoffish, showing he preferred a quieter life. The ranch gladly welcomed him as a permanent resident, giving him all the space and dignity he needed.
Because of his autoimmune condition, Hawkeye also developed severe stomatitis, which required most of his teeth to be pulled. He is kept comfortable and healthy with daily anti-viral medications and soft food.
While he might keep a respectful distance during the afternoon, Hawkeye turns into a whole new cat when it’s mealtime! If you're near the feeding area, he will happily approach you, sing his favorite meowing song, and politely guide you step-by-step to the food stations. If you don't follow right away, he’ll patiently circle back to make sure you get the message! He’s also a gentle soul who peacefully shares his breakfast spots with the ranch roosters.
By sponsoring Hawkeye, you help cover his daily anti-viral treatments, specialized soft-food meals, and ongoing stomatitis care, ensuring this handsome, melodious boy continues to thrive!
