Buzz arrived at Big Sky Ranch alongside a large group of porch cats from Kenner, Louisiana—a busy, urban area right near the airport. They had been cared for by a sweet elderly lady, but when she passed away, her family reached out to the sanctuary to find a safer, quieter environment for her beloved felines.

Having only known their primary caregiver, many of the cats arrived timid and unaccustomed to new people. Over time, many members of the group warmed up and were successfully adopted into forever homes. Buzz, however, proved to be the most skittish of the bunch. Because of his light coloring, he wasn't a safe candidate for an unsupervised barn cat placement, making the ranch his permanent sanctuary.

Buzz is a master of retreat, preferring to keep a safe distance and watch the world go by from a hidden, cozy spot. It took a decade of steady patience and gentle routines, but Buzz eventually opened his heart to Big Sky Ranch founder, Catherine, trusting her completely.

While he still prefers to hide away when new human visitors pop by, Buzz is living a safe, comfortable, and dignified life surrounded by people who honor his shy nature.
