Meet Bucha: Big Sky Ranch’s Official Supervisor

Bucha’s story is one of a second chance turned into a lifetime of leadership. Pulled from death row 12 years ago, Bucha took matters into his own paws when Big Sky staff visited a local shelter to pick up kittens. Not one to be left behind, he reached through his kennel bars and pulled the ladies' hair until they knew he was coming home with them, too.

Though he originally came from a life as a trapped outdoor cat, Bucha quickly made the sanctuary his kingdom. For years, he proudly served as the guardian of all the coops, keeping a watchful eye over the chickens, peacocks, and rabbits. Now at 14 years young, he has stepped into a well-deserved administrative role as our official ranch "supervisor."

These days, Bucha prefers to manage operations from his throne on the golf cart. He loves riding around the grounds and waiting for his good friend Tony so he can give directions and keep daily chores on schedule. A notoriously vocal manager, Bucha isn't shy about speaking up if Tony is taking a little too long!
