Bones is a true hero with a story of pure resilience. His journey began in Texas during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, when Big Sky Ranch was asked to help rescue cats left abandoned in a severely flood-damaged area. Bones was the very first cat trapped during the operation—or rather, he trapped himself! Instead of running, he walked straight up to the rescue team, instantly stealing their hearts and becoming the official mascot for the entire emergency relief effort.

With his outgoing personality and natural charisma, Bones stepped smoothly into the role of Big Sky Ranch’s premier Ambassador Cat, starring in rescue events and making regular media appearances to advocate for animals in need.

Living submerged in floodwaters before his rescue left Bones with a lasting reminder of his past: chronic ear health issues. Today, at 11 years young, he requires ongoing medical care, including regular ear flushes, treatments, and specialized medications to keep him comfortable and pain-free.
