Meet Mercury, a stunning and uniquely rare male tortoiseshell cat! Beyond his rare looks, Mercury is an absolute star who completely hooks the hearts of everyone who spends time with him.

Rescued as a kitten from a feral colony in a hoarding situation, Mercury got a unique start at Big Sky Ranch. During a partnership with Greater Good using Jackson Galaxy’s clicker training program, Mercury proved to be a star pupil. He excelled at the training and quickly learned how to give high-fives and jump through hoops! While he loved the brain games and interaction, he remained semi-feral with traditional handling. Over time, a stint at a cat café helped him blossom into a much more social boy.

His rough start in life left him with several complex health issues, including full-mouth dental extractions and severe food and environmental allergies. After a adoption fell through due to the high cost of managing his allergy needs, Big Sky Ranch became his official forever sanctuary.

Mercury relies on a strict, specialized diet: he has a severe chicken allergy, so he sticks strictly to high-quality, limited-ingredient tuna, salmon, and turkey!
