Akira and Sakari share a deep bond forged through survival. Their journey to Big Sky Ranch began with a massive rescue effort following a hoarding case at a Siberian breeder’s property in Mississippi. When the owner was hospitalized, dozens of cats were left unattended to fend for themselves. Arriving timid, unsocialized, and in need of healing, the sisters found safety at the ranch—and today, they are the last two beloved residents remaining from that rescue.

Now sweet, dignified senior gals, Akira and Sakari share a spacious, comfortable catio designed for easy grooming, routine care, and endless relaxation. These days, they spend their time living their absolute best retirement life: politely ignoring busy human visitors to enjoy long, uninterrupted naps side-by-side on the softest sunlit beds.

As mature seniors, both sisters rely on dedicated medical support:

Akira has no teeth, renal disease, and a chronic upper respiratory infection (URI). She stays happy and thriving on a specialized wet renal diet and receives targeted URI medications whenever she experiences a flare-up.

Sakari faces more advanced medical challenges. She is in renal failure and is currently receiving peaceful hospice care. To keep her comfortable, she receives daily fluids alongside her specialized renal diet.
